In the 1980s, a pastor from the Paris region ensured an evangelical Protestant presence at the Foire au Boudin (Blood Sausage Fair) in Mortgane-au-Perche.

​

In 1994, Pierre and Sigrun Rapp, Church-planting missionaries of German origin, moved to Alençon, capital of the Orne department, supported by the Liebenzell Mission. The first Bible study group was held in their apartment.

​

A house was rented and converted into a place of worship at 88 Rue des Tisons.

Daniela Schmidt moved to Mortagne-au-Perche, joined in 1997 by Protestant sister Erika Leimenstoll. Another sister, Ruth Krause, arrived in Alençon in 2000.

​

From 2005 to 2013, Michael and Dorothéa Renz ministered in Mortagne. A place of worship was opened on rue Sainte-Croix.

In 2011, Pastor Albert Hengerer ministered in Alençon and Mortagne

from Caen-Louvigny. He and his wife Annegret left for a mission in Burundi in 2016.

​

In 2017, Norbert and Susanne Laffin arrived in Alençon. After a year, their colleague Lisa Kimpel joined a team setting up operations in Montpellier.

​

In 2018, the Church found new premises at 10 rue Charles Gide, in the Courteille district. Initially, the ground floor with its rooms was rented. The members of Mortagne joined the Alençon community.

​

The building was acquired two years later, and the upper floor renovated.

​

The local religious association was established in 2023. Subsequently, a new logo was associated with the name: Connect Evangelical Protestant Church.
